Beautiful ARCOPAL volcano model casserole dish, in caramel-colored opaline, designed for use from the oven to the table. It is made of tempered Opal, which makes it very resistant. The appearance looks a bit like ceramic but it is, in fact, an opaque glass with magnificent shades of caramel, amber, mustard, orange.
The French brand Arcopal is manufactured by Verrerie Cristallerie d'Arques.
The Opal glass manufacturing process was discovered in 1958 and registered under the name Arcopal.
It is a glass that is very resistant to chips and cracks.
Under the casserole dish is noted "ARCOPAL France".
