6 porcelain cups and saucers with creamer, sugar bowl and tea/coffee maker
Each room is decorated with a dragon and a phoenix. Each room is lined with gold.
The teapot is marked on the bottom with a red stamp in the shape of a rabbit.
At the bottom of each cup the eyes of the Geisha, follow you like those of the Mona Lisa!. Lithophane geisha cups were made from the late 1800s until the 1950s. The cups are thin and the photo found at the bottom of the cup is created using a variable thickness of porcelain. Most of these porcelain cups are made in the Kutani region of Japan. The images above show what is commonly referred to as a "single geisha", with a classic Japanese hairstyle. In some versions, the geisha's hair is adorned with chopsticks, garlands or flowers.
In good condition, no chip or crack but some traces of wear on the golden parts.
